“Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man.”
Benjamin Franklin
It’s that time of year when the calendar starts nudging us to pause, reflect, and think about what comes next. New Year’s resolutions get a bad rap sometimes, but I still believe there’s value in setting intentions… especially when you’re honest about them. This year, my goal is to drop 35 pounds, build a consistent exercise routine, and eat healthier than I have in years (or ever). Nothing flashy. No shortcuts. Just showing up regularly and doing the work, even on the days I don’t feel like it. There I said it, now everyone can hold me accountable in 2026.

That same mindset carries over into my personal life and the business. I’m thinking a lot about how I want to grow, not just financially, but creatively and intentionally. There are goals for the shop, goals for how I spend my time, and goals for how I show up for the people around me. Growth doesn’t always mean “more”; sometimes it means better. More focused. More sustainable. More aligned with why you started in the first place. I’m curious, what are you setting your sights on for 2026? Big or small, personal or professional, I’d love to hear what you’re working toward.
This week’s news cycle has been heavy. The kind of stuff that wears you down if you let it. But that’s also what makes this season matter so much. Christmas is almost here—a reminder to slow down, hold your people a little closer, and focus on what actually matters. So however this year has treated you, I hope the days ahead bring some peace, some joy, and a fresh start worth believing in.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
And before I wrap this up, here’s a look at what’s been on my reading list this week.
